AbstractThis V-TECS (Vocational-Technical Education Consortium of States) catalog was revised for use by South Carolina instructors in organizing or supplementing their curriculum guides for welding instruction. Contents include performance objectives and criterion referenced measures associated with current occupational information relating to the job content of combination welding. Each performance objective contains the following elements: (1) the condition under which the student will perform the objective, (2) the performance required of the student after instruction has taken place, and (3) a job-relevant standard for measuring successful performance of the objective. The criterion referenced measures are items designed to test student achievement of the performance objectives and are test situations which instruct the student to perform a certain action. The performance guides which accompany most of the objectives and measures are procedural steps identified as subordinate to task performance. They may require slight modification. Only one performance guide is given per item, though there may be several ways to approach the objective. An equipment and tool listing showing the numbers and percentages of workers using each piece of equipment is appended, as well as a list of references used to document the sources of the standards for the objectives, and a state-of-the-art survey.
