| Abstract | This publication summarizes the proceedings of the International Conference on Environmental Education which convened in Jerusalem, Israel, from August 18-21, 1975. Sponsored by The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Environmental Protection Service of Israel, this conference may be viewed as complementary to the previous two conferences on the quality of the environment held in the years 1971 and 1972. The present conference focused on the ways and means used in environmental education in Israel and abroad, mainly in the United States. The conference included five lectures, twenty-four workshops, and a symposium. The workshops were designed to enable teachers to experience activities, utilizing the variety of approaches which characterize environmental education, which could then be used in developing their own programs. Summaries and descriptions of the lectures, workshops, and field trips are presented. Since an extensive list of suggestions and ideas were offered by the participants, there was a need to establish an appropriate channel to examine the suggestions and ideas and accomplish those found to be worthwhile. Hence, it was decided to establish a sub-center for environmental education under the auspices of the Israel Science Teaching Center and the Environmental Protection Service of the Prime Minister's Office.
