Abstract | Three discussants explored the possibilities and implications of future roles of their organization. William D. Dowling cited criteria of professionalism and their application to adult education professors. Charles E. Kozell discussed constraints on strengthening the association and then outlined eight recommendations which might be implemented through task forces or committees. William S. Griffith reviewed the professional status of adult education and cited some advantages and disadvantages of such status. The implications of the Commission's relationship to the Adult Education Association were described. Some functions he suggested were the establishment of a professional journal, a larger role in research, and a basic text. (MS) |
