Abstract | School experience of students in vocational schools ( upper secondary level is characterised by a complexity, which can be understood only if the attention focuses on the relation between the learners and the different knowledge. By questioning students on what it is to learn ad why learn in vocational schools reveals that the apprehension of knowledge proceeds from the convergence of different elements coming from the social and scholastic backgrounds of the student as from educational setting.
