Abstract | "Data suggest that South Asia fares badly in gender equality; therefore, female teacher empowerment efforts there can have significant implications for broader societal transformation. In some areas, empowerment efforts have been facilitated by decentralization and participation efforts; new approaches to curriculum and pedagogy have become more conducive to female empowerment." This is demonstrated in the article using the example of education of female teachers in India and Pakistan. (DIPF/Text übernommen). |
