| Abstract | The book is divided into five parts. Part I addresses the philosophical and theoretical aspects of race relations in a multicultural state: Ideological perspectives on multiculturalism (Alfred T. Kisubi); Philosophical perspectives on multiculturalism (Stefan Sullivan); Eugenics, intelligence measures, and race relations in a multicultural society (Michael A Burayidi). Part II discusses public policy responses to multuiculturalism and ethnic diversity: Multiculturalism and public policy in Canada (Jim S. Frideres); "The race space lock" and urban policy in the U. S. and the U. K. (Edward Blakely & Devajyoti Deka); Multiculturalism in Israel society: some reflections on housing and education policy (Tovi Fenster); Affirmative action policies and their ramifications in India (Rita Jalali); Transvaluation & fiction in U. S: immigration policy (Alfred T. Kisubi). Part III discusses the influence of ethnicity and cultural diversity in local and national policies: Los Angeles: whose votes count (Katherine Underwood); Ethnicity, power policies, and social unrest in Rwanda (Benjamin Asare); Multiculturalism, security and regional cooperation in South Asia (Zillur R. Khan). Part IV discusses some of the social and economic aspects of multiculturalism: Overcoming racial stereotypes through multicultural education: a native American perspective (Maureen Smith); Residential segregation and the housing conditions of African and Afro-Caribbean communities in Britain (Adenrele Awotona); Social and economic aspects of U.
