Abstract | Getting a higher education is one of the most important goals in life of the young people in Russia. Will their choice of profession turn out to be the right one in the future? Are Russians working in the specialty that they chose while in college? Where do young people prefer to work for a living? This article presents the results of an Internet survey conducted by a company called Head Hunter in September 2009. The survey was participated in by more than 2,300 respondents from all regions of Russia. According to the survey data, only half of the respondents were satisfied with their academic specialty, while 31 percent had regrets about the profession they chose. (Contains 10 figures.) (ERIC). |
