Abstract | Six teacher preparation categories were studied as significant components within the flow of resources for their effect on student achievement at one high-poverty middle school. Results found no significant mathematics achievement differences among students taught by teachers with full certification, alternative certification, or math temporary teaching permits. At risk students taught reading by alternatively certified teachers scored significantly higher than those taught by fully certified teachers. (SM) |
