Abstract | Describes possible reasons for the lack of men in early childhood care and education, and offers strategies for remedying the situation. Attributes the lack of men partly to the early childhood field's culture and to the daily sense of difference and isolation as a minority in the field. Makes suggestions for confronting biases about men in early childhood education and for examining and improving family involvement practices. (KB) |
