Abstract | A new Gallup poll (n=5001) shows Americans view race as of little importance in determining one's success in life. Ninety-two% felt hard work and education were very important factors; 33% felt gender was important and 30% felt race was important. Some scholars argue that the survey is a crude way to measure a complex issue. (Author/MSE) |
