Abstract | Twenty-seven undergraduate students participated in a study designed to examine the relationship between content and the development of elementary teacher candidates' understanding of conceptual change pedagogy. Results suggest that, if conceptual change methods are to be incorporated into teacher candidates' repertoire, science content courses taken prior to teacher education courses should be taught using conceptual change pedagogy.
