Abstract | Many college faculty have sought and secured administrative positions. This type of transition is not uncommon. What is uncommon, however, is the transition back from an administrative position to a faculty position within Canadian colleges. There are many barriers and obstacles to this type of role transition which make it very difficult to do. I believe this to be extremely unfortunate because this type of role transition would be of benefit to all stakeholders--faculty, administration, support staff, and ultimately the persons we aim to serve in colleges: our students.
