Abstract | This bibliography, along with other bibliographies developed by the Center for the Study of Technology in Counseling and Career Development, is intended to assist practitioners, researchers, policy makers, and system developers in identifying and locating sources of information on the design and use of computer-assisted career guidance (CACG) systems. The ultimate aim of this effort is to improve the availability and quality of career and educational services to children, adolescents, and adults. This bibliography contains references to the following computer-assisted career guidance systems: DISCOVER (Mainframe Version), DISCOVER II, DISCOVER for Micros, DISCOVER for Schools, DISCOVER for Adult Learners, DISCOVER for Organizations, DISCOVER for Colleges and Adults, DISCOVER for High Schools, DISCOVER for Junior High and Middle Schools, and DISCOVER for Retirement Planning. The bibliography is organized into five sections. The Systems section identifies current versions of DISCOVER. The Theoretical and Research Foundations section includes the theory and research that has guided the development of DISCOVER. The Evaluation and Research Reports section includes investigations of the impact of DISCOVER in meeting the needs of various populations. The Program Descriptions section includes reports of the use of DISCOVER within various organizations. The Support Materials section includes print-based and video-based materials for professionals and individual users that are designed to enhance the effectiveness of DISCOVER. Citations are organized alphabetically by author in each section. A total of 131 citations are included. (Author/NB) |
