Abstract	Results of a study of voter behavior in three actual and two hypothetical school budget and bond elections in Missouri's Columbia Public School District suggest that voters can be effectively classified so that voting behavior can be predicted. Over 450 registered voters responded to a mailed questionnaire featuring 46 items that measured socioeconomic and attitudinal variables and 7 items that measured voting behavior. Chi-square and discriminant function analyses revealed several consistently significant predictor variables. Decisions to vote or not to vote correlated strongly with the respondent's number of children, residential mobility, family income, and level of knowledge about the schools. Decisions to vote for or against school levy or bond measures correlate strongly with the respondent's number of children, political orientation, ownership of a home, occupation, educational attainment, and attitudes toward the schools' personnel, efficiency, and effectiveness. It is suggested that increases in the level of communication between the schools and voters lead to increased support of school measures at the polls. (PGD)
