Abstract | A resource kit for the teaching of listening comprehension in French at the intermediate secondary level is represented by a teacher's guide. The module is designed to develop language awareness through the presentation and discussion of basic language concepts and contrastive language study. Language variation and cognates are among the topics treated. The subject matter of the module is taken from the history, geography, and culture of the city of Montreal. The teacher's guide offers suggested classroom activities, as well as directions for the use of a filmstrip/tape. Background information on Montreal is included, and a cloze quiz is attached. (JB) |
