Abstract | Designed to assist the classroom teacher in keeping abreast of the most recent instructional and technical developments in the field of drafting, this guide includes information that has been identified and validated by incumbent workers, trade unions, professional organizations, and teachers. It is also designed to be of use to curriculum specialists, administrators, and supervisors in the development of a performance-based instructional program. Four sections are included: How to Develop and Implement a Performance-Based Instructional Program describes this type of program and discusses its various components; Occupational Information covers, in relation to drafting, the nature of the work, working conditions, places of employment, training, qualifications and advancement, employment outlook, earnings, and 11 D.O.T. job descriptions. This section is also designed to serve as a complement to technical instruction and as a source of guidance information; Curriculum Resources presents descriptions of a variety of instructional and curriculum materials, including curriculum guides, learning activity packages, course outlines, books, transparencies, film, and filmstrips; and General Resources describes resources within Maryland and the nation. A source listing, providing addresses of various institutions, commercial business and publishers, and other organizations, is appended. (HD) |
