Abstract | With the decline of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs across the nation, there has been an interest in examining the status of these programs, particularly given the increased demand for CTE K-12 teachers. It has been 15 years since Bruening et al. (2001) conducted a similar national investigation. In this descriptive study, we examined the status of CTE programs (both undergraduate and graduate) across the nation with regard to the following: institutional settings which housed CTE programs, CTE program areas offered, and credentialing available. Findings indicated a continued decline of CTE programs and provide data which should cause major concern for the profession to address as we face the challenges of the 21st Century. (As Provided). |
