Abstract | This booklet is one of five in the Peace Corps (PC) Programming and Training Guidelines collection that provides agency-wide programming and training (P&T) guidance for PC staff and project partners. It incorporates topics from previous booklets--how to design or revise a project, how to integrate the PC's cross-cultural goals, and how to assess a project--and provides additional ideas and tools on how to implement a project. Following the introduction, Chapter 2 presents information on various planning cycles in use throughout the PC and on processes managed by posts. It also considers budgeting. Chapter 3, on site development, covers these four areas: identification and selection, volunteer placement, ongoing partnership, and phasing out. Chapter 4, on training and supporting volunteers, discusses pre- and in-service training; close of service; and documents to support staff that provide information on projects, ideas, directions for making resources, and funding sources. Chapter 5, on communicating with stakeholders, outlines communication tools for invitees, trainees, volunteers, and project partners. A resources section provides a collection of reference materials used in the field. Appendixes include acronyms, glossary, and index. (YLB) |
