Abstract | This handbook provides teachers with a vocational experience curriculum for special vocational education students in Kentucky. Topics of the 18 lessons are pretest of basic skills, computer instruction, group guidance--dropping out of school, reading--increased awareness of career opportunities, language arts--develop communication skills through writing letters of application, employability skills, mathematical operations, money and work, group guidance--drug and alcohol awareness, language arts--develop communication skills through writing request letters and personal resumes, library skills, community service and your job, computing mathematical averages, fractions, group guidance--peer influence, group guidance--opportunities available at school, library skills, and posttest. An information sheet for each lesson presents objective, suggested activities, a list of suggested resources, and evaluation. These types of materials may also be provided: worksheets, information sheets, examples, and tests. Answer keys to worksheets and tests are included. (YLB) |
