| Abstract | With the growing awareness of adolescent prescription drug abuse, communities and schools are beginning to explore prevention and intervention strategies which are appropriate for their youth. This article provides a framework for developing a collaborative approach to prescription drug abuse prevention--called the Prevention Awareness Team--that involves families, schools, youth, and the community. The authors outline a prevention toolkit which can be adapted and utilized by community prevention awareness teams for use in a variety of settings. (Contains 3 tables and 3 footnotes.)
