Abstract	Pennsylvania is considered one of the nation's key swing states. But over in Penn State's student union, there wasn't much excitement about the forthcoming election--even though it is the first presidential vote that most undergraduates will cast. A visit last week by "The Chronicle" to Penn State and two other campuses in the central region of the state--Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and Bucknell University--found that while students who are part of campus political groups are activists with strong views, the average undergraduate has lukewarm opinions and a shallow understanding of the issues. A surprisingly large number said they were uninterested in the election and didn't even plan to vote. Some students said they'd simply vote whatever way their parents did because they hadn't studied the issues closely enough themselves. This article presents some of the views of undergraduates in Pennsylvania on the forthcoming US elections. (ERIC).
