Abstract	The median salary of college administrators increased by 4 percent in the 2006-7 academic year, according to an annual survey released this week by the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. The increase in pay for positions that include presidents, chief academic officers, deans, and various vice presidents and directors was greater than the prior academic year, when the median salary was up 3.5 percent. Also, for the 10th consecutive year, the median salary increase for administrators outpaced inflation. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Consumer Price Index for urban consumers in 2006 was 3.2 percent higher than in 2005. (ERIC).
