Abstract | An ethnographic study of four Cambodian women learning English as a second language showed how their participation was connected to their identities as spouses, mothers, sisters, daughters, and workers. The research extends Norton Peirce's theory by highlighting the role that cultural identity plays in investment in learning. (Contains 31 references.) (SK) |
