Abstract | The numbers of African Americans and other minorities earning graduate and professional degrees at American colleges and universities (1991-95) increased at rates much higher than those of the general graduate student population. The trend is attributed to recruitment in the 1980s and 1990s. However, some predict the trend will end if the backlash over the end of affirmative action continues. (MSE) |
