Abstract | Examined relationship between perceived parental verbal interactions and self-esteem in adolescents. Findings from survey of 64 high school students indicated that quality of parental verbal interactions as perceived by adolescents was significantly related to adolescents' self-esteem levels. Parents perceived as having high levels of positive verbal interactions tended to have adolescents who liked themselves and were confident. (NB) |
