Abstract | Conservative views of multiculturalism have stifled discussion of how different social groups are related within networks of hierarchy and exploitation, both in and outside schools. Traditionalists see curriculum as a narrative structure inextricably tied to producing a unified culture and social identity. Multiculturalism means analyzing how institutions produce racism and other forms of discrimination. (MLH) |
