Abstract | The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between perceived transformational leadership and transactional leadership style and teachers' intellectual style. Based on 967 middle school teachers' survey answers, this study identified that there are positive relationships between perceived transformational leadership and Type I intellectual style, as well as a positive relationship between perceived instructional leadership and Type II intellectual style. This study paves the way for a theoretical understanding of the relationship between leadership style and teachers' intellectual style and provides practical suggestions for education practitioners.
