Abstract | This article describes central tenets for design thinking and entrepreneurial thinking individually, then examines their intersection to analyze a product's feasibility in the market. The conceptual framework of combining design and entrepreneurial thinking can foster novelty in design, and also provides a means of extending instruction in the design process. The authors show an activity wherein the products of a design process can be further developed and analyzed to gauge their commercial viability in a market system. The addition of this activity can help extend design learning to encompass entrepreneurial perspectives and sustain motivation in our learning environments. (ERIC). |
