AbstractThis study aimed to examine the instructional designs prepared by the prospective counselors to develop critical thinking skills. The holistic single case study design was used. A total of 82 students participated in the current study on a voluntary basis. The data collection tools of the study consist of instructional process designs developed by the participating students to foster critical thinking skills. The instructional designs developed by the participants within the context of the current study were analyzed according to the critical thinking skills instructional design framework that forms the theoretical framework of the study and was developed by Duron, Limbach, and Waugh. As a result of the descriptive analysis of the data the following themes were obtained: (1) Determine learning objectives; (2) teach through questioning; (3) practice before you assess; (4) review, refine, and improve; and (5) provide feedback and assessment of learning.
