Abstract | This mixed-methods study investigated the effectiveness of a sex positive sexual education and violence prevention program: Relationships, Sexuality, and Violence Prevention (RSVP). Researchers tested the impact of the program among 63 college women. A series of one-way ANCOVAs tested the impact of the program on (a) positive sexual self-understanding; (b) sexual assertiveness; (c) attributions of blame; (d) sexual communication; and (e) self-defense self-efficacy, with results showing the treatment group improved significantly in self-defense self-efficacy. Thematic analysis was conducted on qualitative responses, and the identified themes described behavioral and attitudinal changes experienced by participants. (As Provided). |
