Abstract	The author reviews various factors defining school choice, and school curricula. A key assumption behind the rhetoric logic of school choice is the notion that parents actually choose from schools of varying quality. If parents choose from high-quality schools, choice policy will enhance educational opportunities. If, however, the considered schools are of similar low quality, school choice will allow families to change schools, but children will still be trapped in inferior schools. The author's research note is a case study, based on the Tamil Nadu State in India and its education reform, as defined by the Tamil Nadu Uniform System of School Education Act (2010). The author argues that the National Curriculum, as in the case of the Tamil Nadu State, which defines school curricula, textbooks, standards and outcomes, is likely to offer quality and value-added schooling for all.
