Abstract | Developing effective novice teachers involves many components. Researchers have studied the impact of principals, induction programs, and mentors on the growth and development of novice teachers. Relationships with college/university faculty, students, parents, and support staff can also impact the growth of these novice professionals. The combination of these components creates a mentoring web that works together to empower the individual teacher as they begin their teaching career. The purpose of this article is to outline the mentoring web components and how the implementation of this web can ensure success for novice teachers in their initial years as professionals in the field of education.
