Abstract | Some students with disabilities develop a dependence on others for support and can benefit from self-management strategies to increase independence. Self-operated auditory prompting systems are an effective self-management intervention used to increase independence for students with disabilities while continuing to provide the support that they often need for task performance. However, many teachers do not know how to create and implement self-operated auditory prompting with their students. This article provides a step-by-step guide for teachers, discussing how to create and implement self-operated auditory prompting systems with students. Systematic instructions for recording auditory prompting systems are provided. (As Provided). |
