Abstract | The purpose of this study is to investigate family and consumer sciences (FCS) professionals' perceptions of multidisciplinary collaboration in teaching, research, and service. A focus group and survey were participants identified projects, strengths, weaknesses, and suggestions related to collaboration.Topics and projects that incorporated collaboration were identified. Six strengths were identified, including the integration of creative ideas and greater visibility for the profession. Eight weaknesses were noted, including diverse political agendas and limited resources. Suggestions for future collaboration were utilizing technology and pursuing engagement with external agents such as recognized volunteer agencies. (As Provided). |
