Abstract	Humor can be extremely beneficial in everyday life, whether giving or receiving it. It can be used to lighten the mood, give encouragement, or make corrections. Humor in physical education is no exception. Physical educators can use humor as a teaching tool and to create an environment for students to acquire the knowledge to practice a lifetime of physical activity. This article will show the benefits of using humor and will offer suggestions on how to implement it in the physical education setting. When physical educators understand the benefits and applications of humor and the role it can play in a physical education setting, students are put in a position to try and work on skill acquiescence. Physical education teachers are role models, and humor can help decrease apprehension and fear while improving opportunities to learn skills that can last throughout a lifetime. (Contains 1 table.)
