AbstractDual enrollment programs have gained popularity as a way for students to earn college credits while still in high school. This professional practice dissertation explored the effectiveness of various strategies to promote dual enrollment to high school students, focusing on increasing enrollment rates among underserved populations and equitable access for all students. This action research study used surveys and questionnaires to collect data from high school counselors, administrators, the local community college, and workforce development. The research analyzed the benefits of dual enrollment for students as well as the obstacles that prevent high school students from enrolling in dual enrollment programs, such as a lack of awareness, financial constraints, and restricted availability. The study also investigated several dual enrollment promotion techniques, including marketing efforts, outreach and connection from school administrators and counselors, and financial assistance. The recommendation for targeted outreach to all students with an electronic dual enrollment handbook and professional development for educational stakeholders will help to promote dual enrollment for all students in Grades 9 through 12 (Karp et al., 2007). Overall, this research gives insights into encouraging dual enrollment for high school students based on feedback from stakeholders, including school counselors, school administrators, and educators who wish to increase high school students' access to college courses and earning credits to assist with college and career readiness after high school.
