Abstract | "Engaging Parents in Productive Partnerships" is an easy-to-read presentation of suggestions on how educators and service providers can effectively collaborate with parents including specific recommendations for individualized education programs (IEPs) for students who receive special education and related services. The skillful integration of team member expertise, whether based upon personal experience or professional training, is a critical factor in designing successful IEPs. The strategies suggested here can go a long way toward resolving disagreements, improving relationships, and producing positive outcomes for students with disabilities. (ERIC). |
