Abstract	The academic struggles of English language learners highlight the essential need to provide additional supports for this growing body of students. Given the multiple hurdles facing ELL students as they move through school, it is difficult for schools alone to provide ELL students the extra supports necessary for them to succeed academically. Afterschool programs are natural partners to build ELL students' literacy skills, as well as support their social and emotional wellbeing and engage students' families in their education. As a part of the educational ecosystem, afterschool programs are helping all students, including ELL students, reach their full potential. (ERIC).
