Abstract | This bulletin provides a brief historical account of Czechoslovakia from the end of World War I to the present state. The report describes the education system in three parts: (1) School System: 1918-1948--preschool and elementary education, secondary education, teacher training, and higher education; (2) school system: 1958-1960--preschool education, elementary-secondary general education, technical-vocational education, training of apprentices, teacher training, and higher education; and (3) school reform of 1960--preschool education, elementary education, secondary education (second degree schools), and teacher training. Appended are study plans of secondary schools, and statistics for the number of students and teachers, 1958-59 and 1960-61. (Contains 23 footnotes, and 6 tables.)
