Abstract | This bulletin presents the statistics of 479 manual training schools, agricultural schools, and industrial, trade, and vocational schools for 1914. At present these are divided into four groups: (1) public manual-training high schools; (2) agricultural schools (State agricultural high schools, district agricultural high schools, country agricultural high schools, private agricultural schools of high-school grade); (3) manual, industrial, vocational, technical, and trade schools; and (4) industrial schools for Indians. A new grouping is being contemplated by the bureau, and a more adequate classification of institutions will be made. (Contains 21 tables and 2 footnotes.)
