AbstractThis publication contains a series of sessions developed and used by Newcastle City Council Family Learning Service and now published to share practice. The sessions were developed specifically to support "Skills for Life" tutors to deliver the adult literacy and numeracy curricula but can also be used by other practitioners. There are six sessions, each timetabled to last two hours: (1) Baby budgeting; (2) Buying goods and services; (3) Introduction to the Child Trust Fund; (4) Managing money; (5) Savings; and (6) Talking about money. The sessions are not meant to be a definitive guide or to provide a rigid format, but can be adapted to meet the needs of learners and incorporate the "Skills for Life" activities that tutors would normally carry out, for example, initial assessment activity, diagnostic assessment and compilation of ILPs. They can either substitute them for one of the activities or incorporate them as additional activities in an appropriate session. (ERIC).
