Abstract | The Thomas B. Fordham Foundation believes that all children deserve a high-quality K-12 education at the school of their choice. Nationally and in its home state of Ohio, the Foundation strives to close America's vexing achievement gaps by raising standards, strengthening accountability, and expanding education options for students and families. The Foundation advances the reform of American education by: (1) engaging in solid research and provocative analysis; (2) disseminating information and ideas that shape the debate; (3) supporting quality schools and organizations in the foundation's hometown of Dayton and across the state of Ohio; (4) identifying and developing talent for roles in education policy leadership and scholarship; (5) sponsoring charter schools in Ohio and building their academic excellence; and (6) informing policy makers at every level about promising solutions to pressing education problems. This report offers a comprehensive account of Fordham's sponsorship policies and practices-as well as individual profiles of all Fordham-sponsored charter schools in Ohio. Included in the profiles are descriptions of each school's educational program, school philosophy, and overall academic performance. Appended are: (1) Study Methodology; and (2) Accountability Plan. (Contains 12 footnotes.) [For the 2005-2006 edition of this report, see ED498797.] (ERIC). |
