Abstract | Chapters in this collection present the views of academics and professionals from the Third World who have received their planning education in the west and who now hold posts in western urban and regional planning schools. They discuss the need for a radically changed curriculum based on a comparative, one-world approach to planning education. Through reflections and perceptive critiques of their own field, the spatial, environmental, social, design, and communications disciplines, they explore critical issues in development planning.
