Abstract	This booklet is a facsimile edition of the first book published by the Phi Delta Kappa Educational Foundation. Written in 1957 by George H. Reavis, who established the foundation in 1966, and with a research-based historical commentary and updating by Carter V. Good, "An Educational Platform for the Public Schools" was published in 1968 and sets forth a basic and enduring educational philosophy. The booklet covers such topics as the purposes and responsibilities of education; school organization: program and curriculum; the adaptation of teaching and learning procedures to individual differences; the relationship among administration, leadership, and the teacher; and values and issues in social science and research. The facsimile edition was published in recognition of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Phi Delta Kappa Educational Foundation. (LMI)
