Abstract | IMPACT II is a program for professional development of teachers in the Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, and Youngstown (Ohio) areas that assists educational reform by providing innovative teacher-developed curriculum ideas, teacher-to-teacher networks, teacher recognition, and discretionary funds for teachers. IMPACT II recognizes teachers for creativity in curriculum and instruction and enables them to share ideas professionally. The program awards individual grants to teachers who have developed innovative and successful curriculum projects and team disseminator grants to teams who work collaboratively across subject areas, grade levels, and schools. This publication profiles 192 projects selected as grant recipients in 1995. Teacher-developed curriculum ideas are presented for elementary and secondary levels in the following areas: (1) foreign language; (2) mathematics; (3) the arts; (4) language arts; (5) multidisciplinary approaches; (6) science; (7) social studies; and (8) special education. An index lists disseminators by school district. (SLD) |
