Abstract	This annual report for the Bernard van Leer Foundation describes the foundation's activities during 1990. The foundation seeks to promote the development of human resources in communities with social, economic, and cultural problems, focusing its efforts on the needs of young children. The first part of the publication contains a general description of the foundation and its operations. The second and third sections contain the 1990 annual report and a financial statement. Highlights of the year were: (1) participation in a world conference on universal primary education; (2) internal reorganization; (3) the funding of 16 new projects; (4) the establishment of a regional center in Trinidad to serve Caribbean countries; and (5) the continuation of the foundation's publication program. The bulk of the report consists of brief descriptions of 110 projects in 41 countries that were funded by the foundation from 1985-1990 and were still functioning in 1991. For each project, the description lists the institution or agency that is officially in charge of the activities, the name of the project, the duration of the activities funded by the foundation, and a profile of the context in which the project operates.
