Abstract | This Canadaian document, in French and English language versions, is a compilation of quarterly journal issues for Spring, Summer, and Fall of 1994, and Winter, 1995 (i.e., all of volume 8). Each issue is divided into four sections: Opinions, Practice, Focus, and News. The effective management of various child care concerns, and children's play and health issues, are discussed in each issue. Topics covered in the Spring issue include full-day versus half-day kindergarten, key issues in school-age care, and improving child behavior. Topics covered in the Summer issue include culturally sensitive child care, multiculturalism, bilingual and immigrant children, and refugees in the child care system. Topics covered in the Fall issue include corporal punishment, science education, and professional development. Topics covered in the Winter issue include dressing preschoolers for winter, computers, and educational settings that encourage girls' interest in science and technology. (JW) |
