Abstract | This instructional guide in French is intended for training Peace Corps volunteers serving in the Central African Republic. The guide includes 21 topical lessons at the introductory level, each consisting of briefly stated competency objectives and a number of brief, related situational dialogues. Lesson topics include: greetings; introducing oneself; introducing another person; leave-taking; talking about one's family; talking about objects; locating someone; locating common items; human and animal body parts and tree parts; telling time; weather and seasons; asking prices; shopping; placing an order; food; clothing; physical and mental health; daily activities and travel; expressing intentions; and asking and answering questions.
