Abstract	This book addresses three questions: Is the partner school concept a passing fad? What do educators need to know in order to initiate a partnership and a partner school? What can we anticipate, with regard to costs and benefits, from partner schools in the future? After an introductory chapter, "Understanding School-University Partnerships" (R. T. Osguthorpe, R. C. Harris, S. Black, B. R. Cutler, and M. F. Harris), the book is divided into two parts "Part One: The Goals of Partner Schools" and "Part Two: Developing and Implementing Partner Schools." Part One contains the following chapters: "Improving Student Learning" (W. H. Kimball, S. M. Swap, P. A. LaRosa, and T. Howick); "Strengthening Teacher Education" (M. L. Barnhart, D. J. Cole, S. T. Hansell, B. K. Mathies, W. E. Smith, and S. Black); "Promoting Professional Development" (R. A. Pines, L. Z. Mitchel, and N. Michelli); and "Supporting Collaborative Inquiry" (F. P. Hunkins, D. L.
