Abstract | This bibliography provides a recommended list of research and theoretical literature in school restructuring. The literature, chosen to be of interest for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers, is organized into five areas: (1) General References on School Restructuring is divided into proposals for school reform, how schools work, and the change process; (2) Student Experiences covers curricular and instructional reform, methods of grouping students, student engagement, and assessment reform; (3) Professional Life of Teachers contains analysis of teachers' work life and proposals for enhancing the teaching profession; (4) School Governance contains sections on policy issues and new structures for accountability, school-site management, leadership, and school climate and culture; and (5) Collaboration Between Schools and Community contains sections on policy issues, coordination of social services for children, business and school partnerships, and parent involvement.
